Album

7-26-10

We are well underway recording our debut album, Breakup At Allen Park. It will contain a delightful number of tracks that will be sure to make even the toughest of brutes sob like a baby. We’ll be releasing the first official single in the coming weeks. The album will hopefully be completed in August, but that is very optimistic. We’ve played a few shows this summer and are hoping for some more, videos and pictures will be added to this site soon. In addition to this update, we will contradict the last update. There is no new guitarist, Bruno, Matt, and Ethan will continue to fill that void. We’ll keep you updated a little more frequently from now on… or at least we say we will.

Generation IX

3-4-09

After another failed attempt, OES has entered the next generation. Introducing some new members, but we’ll get to that later. Andy McCoy has determined that he is too busy for this job, but we’ve found an alternate solution. The biggest news of all is that OES is about to sign a guitarist. This will be the first time we’ve had a guitarist since 2006. This will be a huge change in sound, but don’t worry, the piano will still be a main part of the songwriting process. Bruno is going to be playing a little bit more guitar as well, forming a more traditional rock band sound. Matt Hildom will continue to play bass for the group and Ethan will return this summer. This Wednesday we hope to host our first practice as Generation IX and see where we go. We’ll keep you posted on everything that goes down.

Love,

One Eyed Seconds

Revolving Door

2-18-10

The revolving door of drummers continues to swing as Mark Smeltzer leaves the One Eyed Seconds yet again. His reason for departure being that he didn’t have enough free time to dedicate to the group. The warning was appreciated and Mark may return for some session recordings someday in the future. We at OES headquarters have been fooling around with the idea of bringing back the original drummer for the group, Andy McCoy. We’ve been in talks and it looks pretty optimistic, but we’ll see how it goes. We will see if we can get some practices together soon and keep the ball rolling. We’re still looking at recording some stuff soon and playing some live shows as soon as the drum situation is figured out. We’ll get back to you soon. Love ya.

White Flag

1-12-10

Last night was a monumental practice for us. We’ve gotten some recordings down and a demo for the new song “White Flag” is being released online today. Go to the music page to access the song. We’re very excited about the progress we’re making and after next practice we should have another demo for you to feast your ears on. This was our first practice without founding member Ethan Papaserge. We wish him well on his journeys and hope to catch up over the spring and summer to write and record some more.

Another New Year

1-2-09

On to the next new year in our journey. The fourth we’ve seen. This new year has many surprises in store for you and all of us here at OES Secret Headquarters. First of all, we’ve begun recording already. We’ve got some tracks down for James Monroe and I Never Knew. Bruno finished an interesting arrangement for flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and tuba during a section of White Flag. The BrunoFrass writing team finished another song, titled Coma, and several others are in the works. The website has received some more minor updates, new pictures in the line-up section and an official forum. We’ll get some audio clips in the music section shortly. Also, while we’re here, Mike Brunacini released his solo debut a few months ago and this looks like good advertising space. Go forth here or here and check it out.

Status Report

12-5-09

All is going according to plan. After several practices we’ve become familiar with several songs from the BrunoFrass writing team and we’re introducing new songs at each practice. We have another scheduled in for next week in which we’ll embark on some more material. This site will be receiving some major updates very shortly, including some photos, practice audio, and potentially a link to Ethan’s Video Blog which he records at each practice. For the past two practices we’ve been recording all audio throughout the entire rehearsal. After some review and editing, we’ll put up some samples for you to listen to, just to prove we’re doing something.

Generation 8—A New Beginning

11-17-09

Four years, 13 members, and 7 generations bring nothing for the One Eyed Seconds, but on the eve of our fourth birthday we made some secret plans for a project codenamed “Generation 8”. This plan is well underway so we’ll tell you a bit about it. First of all it is quite obvious that we are back for another try, but the good news doesn’t stop there. We’ve maintained the core “BrunoFrass” writing team (Michael A. Brunacini and Ethan P. Papaserge) and added former drummer Mark Smeltzer to the team; a solid trio right there. The most exciting news is the latest person to join the One Eyed Seconds’ family, bass player Matt Hildom. Technically he is the 14th member to join the family making this line-up Generation 8 in the OES family tree. Practices are in order and future plans have been made to play live and get a recording of sorts accomplished, more details on that later. Anyway, with less clutter/deadweight, we expect a lot from this new line-up. Several new songs are already in the works as well as some old favorites.  We’ll get back to you with frequent practice updates in text, audio, and visual forms. Also, the site is currently under construction and will be finished in the coming weeks.
